My Tarot Portal

I feel like I don’t talk enough about my relationship with Tarot so here’s a little story about how the magical cards entered my life!

Once upon a time I was working at a juice bar after moving to a new city post MASSIVE breakup (LOL is this how all modern day fairytales begin?) and ended up falling for someone very unexpectedly.

It was...complicated to say the least and when the relationship eventually ran its course, I found myself craving a new kind of support. I was frustrated, confused, sad, and honestly just needed a good friend.

I was already into astrology + crystals, etc. so visits to the local magic shop continually felt like a warm hug on my lunch breaks.

I had been eyeing the decks for months but was too intimidated to commit (ahem: not yet ready to confront the truth) until one day...I WAS ready. It was July 11th, 2019. I marched into that shop and put The Moonchild Tarot along with a crystal for a friend on the counter.

My grand total? $66.66.

I so desperately wish I still had the receipt! I didn’t understand exactly what it meant in the moment...but the shop girl laughed and assured me not to worry.

I knew intuitively that a portal had been opened.

Before I had any clue what I was doing, I couldn’t resist opening up the deck and selecting a card (I have a stellium in the first house, so patience and/or reading instructions are never really my default setting!).

I selected the Six of Wands. ANOTHER six!

Here’s the description from the guidebook (that I did actually read that day): “The Six of Wands shines a loving light on your accomplishments and the rising of your independence. This may also point to sparks of public recognition that support your career, which fuels your enthusiasm and self-confidence beyond measure. You may feel as though there is nothing you cannot achieve, and others also recognize this powerful quality in you. This card represents the harmonious state that comes from reaching a healthy and comfortable balance in all areas of life - mind, body, and spirit. Yet, although this may be a time to celebrate and rejoice, try not to forget how you got to this point. The Six of Wands is indeed a positive message to receive, but the shadow side of its energy can indicate excessive feelings of pride fueled by the ego.”

Less than one year later, TBH Magic was born.

The very next morning (above photo) I spread all the cards out on my bed and observed them; together, but apart.

I cleansed the Tarot in smoke and thanked them for whatever they were about to teach me. They have remained by my side since that fated beginning, and it’s an absolute JOY each time I get to introduce their magic to clients.

As my clairvoyance grows my reliance on Tarot lessens, but the cards remain my favorite friends. They uncover the truth, YOUR truth, and are willing to share it with you whenever you’re truly ready to receive it.

If you’re ready, I’d love for you to book a reading with me. If you *might* be ready, please contact me with any and all questions you might have about this magical spiritual practice! And if you’re not ready, I see you. Tarot isn’t for everyone, but if it’s for you, I promise it will find you right on time.
